Among the revelations in Philip Schofield's explosive new autobiography, Life's What You Make It, is the account of his epic fallout with TV legend Noel Edmonds.

As former kids' TV presenters turned prime time success stories, Phillip and Noel have a lot in common - but their amicable relationship imploded during an interview on This Morning four years ago.

Noel, 71, appeared on the show to defend his controversial Twitter posts about the causes of cancer.

The 90s TV icon was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2013 and blamed it on the stress in his life at the time.

He also claimed that a £2.3K 'sound wave' machine helped him recover from the potentially fatal disease.

Noel was invited to discuss his beliefs about positive energy on This Morning which spiralled into a tense showdown with host Phil and Dr Raj.

Phil accused Noel of being 'insensitive' to other sufferers with Noel saying he was missing his point and accused the ITV show of 'stitching him up.'

"Your promo is wrong and I object to that. I want to be positive," he told them.

Following the interview, Noel said: "Phil, if you are unlucky enough to be seriously ill, I promise I won’t be so callous and I will show you respect, sympathy and compassion."

He also accused hosts Phil and Holly Willoughby of being 'aggressive, disrespectful and dishonest.'

Six months later the row reignited on social media with the two men exchanging words.

Noel tweeted at Scof findings from Cambridge's Institute and Harvard University that 'negative people are more vulnerable to serious illness and premature death.'

Phil then snapped back: "But were they incredibly insensitive and tactless in their delivery of said research?" in a dig at their interview.

"You corrupted the truth and made a fool of your self," responded Noel, telling Phil: 'Your ego is larger than your intellect.'

Philip then fired back: "Must be awful to brood for so long! Are you being negative?" followed by a wink emoji.

"Point proved. I rest my case," snapped Noel.

Recalling the fallout in his autobiography Life's What You Make It, Phil said the clash was a 'terrible shame.'

"I always cited him as my TV inspiration," said Phil.

"Sadly, many years later, he and I would strongly disagree over an interview on This Morning when he suggested that ‘negative energy’ could cause cancer. I still take a different point of view to Noel, but I think it’s a terrible shame we fell out over it," he admitted.

After Noel was ejected from I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here first in 2018, he was asked to give his take on the Schofield argument.

"We had a spat on This Morning," he admited. "I would love to go on This Morning again and properly talk about the subject of the human body energy system.
