Phil Collins thought he had found 'the one' when he popped the question to Orianne Cevey in 1999.
The pair swiftly tied the knot that year, with their ill-fated marriage crumbling in 2008 after welcoming two sons together.
And although their split was meant to be for good, the Genesis star reunited with Orianne four years ago, as the pair were determined to give their spark another go.
In fact, Phil even had Orianne move into his Miami mansion in a bid to start afresh.
But just four years later, their union came to a sudden bitter end when Orianne tied the knot with a struggling toyboy guitarist.
Over the weekend, TMZ.com reported Orianne, 46, had remarried - tying the knot with Thomas Bates, 31, in Las Vegas two months ago.
TMZ.com have alleged that the news came as a shock to him.
Following their £25million divorce in 2008, the pair went their separate ways and thought their union was over for good.
Orianne went on to tie the knot with business Charles Mejjati, meanwhile Phil realise he and his ex made a mistake breaking up, and was willing to give their union another go as they co-parented their sons in Miami.
In 2015, Orianne's marriage with Charles began to crumble, with Charles later complaining in court papers that his wife left him high and dry for the singer.
Things began to hot up between the pair as Orienne recovered from surgery on a slipped disk in her neck — which left her partially paralysed from complications.
Phil was there for her throughout the recovery process and the time together saw them work on being a family again.
Orianne then moved into Phil's Miami mansion where they all lived together.
Confirming it was the right decision back in 2017, the brunette beauty said: "Our separation was the wrong decision.
"I now call Phil my husband again. We are so close that it does not actually make a difference if we are married or not. We were always very close, because of the children. Just last year I realised that he is indeed the man of my life.”
Meanwhile the singer said added at the time: “We went back because we realised we had made a mistake.
“A lot of people don’t have that chance, or don’t give themselves that chance. Our young sons Matthew and Nicholas are like a dog with two tails. They’re just so happy.
“They’ve got their mum and dad back together, so it’s a good place to be at the moment.”
But just three years later, it seems as though Orianne ended things with Phil, as she had a wedding to a guitarist in Vegas.
The news rattled Phil, mostly because he claims he had no idea she was even seeing anyone else.
Phil - who is currently in London with his Genesis bandmates as they prepare for a reunion tour - is now taking legal action to get Orianne evicted from his Miami pad along with her new husband.
A source told The Sun : "This came totally out of the blue for him.
“Up until he found out she had got married to someone else, he was still in a relationship with Orianne and they were living together in Miami.”
“Orianne was going back and forth to Vegas, saying that the trips were to do with her jewellery business. Then Phil found out that she had secretly got married.
“He left the US in the first week of September. He just wanted to get away. He said: ‘I’m done with this’.”
Mirror Online has contacted Phil's reps for comment.
And after hearing Phil's plans to get her evicted, Orianne got her lawyer on the case.
Her lawyer Frank Maister has declared she is planning to fight any legal action launched by her ex in a desperate bid to stay at the Miami mansion.
The pair have two sons together; Nicholas, now 19, and Matthew, 15, and the musician handed her a £25million divorce settlement after their split back in 2008.
After the divorce, she went on to marry Charles Mejjati, but divorced him in 2016 when she revived her relationship with Collins.
TMZ reported Collins has told her to leave the Miami mansion, but she refused and asked for a renegotiation of their previous divorce settlement.
Phil's marriage to Orianne was actually his third overall.
His first marriage was to Andrea Bertorelli, who he first met aged 11 when they were both in drama school.
He adopted her daughter Joely, and they became parents to a son named Simon before they divorced in 1980.
The rock star went on to marry Jill Tavelman in 1984, and they welcomed actress daughter Lily in 1989.
They then split in 1994 and divorced in 1996, before he married Orianne in 1999.
