Peter Andre has slammed Britain's Got Talent viewers who complained about Diversity 's poignant Black Lives Matter dance.
The pop star, 47, spoke out after Ofcom complaints about the moving performance reached more than 15,500.
Peter, who suffered racism growing up, insists artists need to be able to express themselves honestly without fear of a backlash.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: "People need to be able to express themselves through their art.
"The day that we are stopped from doing that is going to be a very sad day indeed...
"Ashley [Banjo] and the other dancers have worked so hard, and they are so passionate. They have every right to express their feelings.
"The subject clearly means a lot to Diversity and, [the complaints] in my opinion, shouldn't stop them or deter them to be their creative selves."
He went on to insist that anyone who hasn't suffered racism or bullying may not understand how it feels.
Pete added of Diversity's performance: "It will resonate with many people and that in itself shows the power of their art."
Last weekend, Ashley joined the other members of Diversity to put on a poignant performance honouring the Black Lives Matter movement.
During the routine, dancers dressed in riot gear and a white member in a police officer's uniform was seen kneeling on Ashley as he lay on the ground.
It was a moving moment referencing the death of George Floyd in the US, with the dancers all taking the knee in a show of solidarity.
However, Ofcom was flooded with complaints over the performance, and the stars have been bombarded with abuse online.
Numbers have surged to 15,500, making it the second most complained about TV moment of the last decade, behind Roxanne Palette's CelebrityBig Brother 'punchgate' row at 25,237.
