Peter Andre hits out at Molly-Mae Hague after she called Italian food 'grim'
Molly-Mae Hague's recent controversial opinion about Italian food has Peter Andre shuddering as he asked: "How can Italian food be shocking in the place it originated from?"
Peter Andre has responded to Molly-Mae Hague's complaints that Italian food is "shocking."
The 46-year-old singer took issue with 21-year-old former Love Islander Molly-Mae over her opinion on Italian food.
Molly sparked controversy earlier this month when she attacked the standard of cooking on a trip to Venice, even calling the ice-cream "grim."
Talking to her followers on Instagram she wrote: "One thing I will say about Italy in general... the food is actually shocking?
"So controversial I know but I've been a lot of times now to different parts and I've tried a lot of different restaurants and I'm always so disappointed.
"It's meant to be the home of pizza and pasta and I really can't see how! Strange. Even this ice cream was grim."
Molly later added: "I got recommended to go to these traditional Italian restaurants that are meant to serve the best pizza and pasta, and again, I just wasn’t impressed."
But, writing in his New magazine column, Peter asked: "How can Italian food be shocking in the place it originated from?"
He also went on to say that he'd never had bad service in an Italian restaurant and defended 'al dente' cooked pasta.
He wrote: "For me, Italian food is the best. I love the food in Venice and when I went to Rome the food was incredible.
"I love my pasta al dente and that’s exactly how it should be."
He added: "I’d never name and shame, because it’s not nice."
But he was sure to say he was a big fan of the former Love Islanders, as he went on to say: "I like Tommy and Molly-Mae so I don't want any Fury!"
