Netflix's You star Penn Badgley has welcomed his first child with wife Domino Kirke after the pair suffered two heartbreaking miscarriages.

The pair, who have been together since 2014 and tied the knot in 2017, confirmed the exciting news on Instagram with an adorable snap of their new arrival.

Taking to Instagram, Domino, who is known for her music career, shared a heartwarming picture with her 79k followers that showed her laying on the bed with a duvet wrapped around her.

Her newborn son can be seen laying next to her, presumably on Penn's lap.

It seems as though Domino welcomed the pair's son more than a month ago, as she took to Instagram to share a second post of a heart drawing, as she wrote: "His heart shaped home, #40dayspostpartum #placentaart."

Domino is also a mum to 11-year-old son Cassius, whom she gave birth to in 2009 with ex Morgan O'Kane.

Penn and Domino announced they were expecting back in February, as Domino took to Instagram to pen a personal message to fans explaining her struggle of facing two miscarriages.

Domino - who is a doula and even co-founded the doula business collective Carriage House Birth - penned: "On the road again... pregnancy after loss is whole other thing."

She went on: "After two miscarriages in a row we were ready to call it. I stopped trusting my body and started to accept the fact that I was done.

"As a birth attendant, I've seen and heard it all. It takes everything I’ve got to detach lovingly from the losses I've been present for and be in my own experience.

"When I was pregnant at 25, I knew nothing. I had no community. I dove in blissfully unaware about birth and its mysteries."

She added: "Now, with 10 years worth of experience to pull from, I treasure my birth community and the knowledge I have. You’re already teaching us how to stay in the day in a way we've never had to, little one. Thank you."

This is the first biological child for Penn, who is stepfather to Domino's son from a previous relationship.
