Pat Sharp has revealed fans still think he lives with Fun House’s cheerleading twins - despite the show being off air for more than two decades.

Melanie and Martina Grant are still adored by fans who grew up watching the chaotic kids' show involving gunge, games and go-karts.

The radio DJ has confessed he’s still asked about the blonde twins, despite the show finishing in 1999 after running for 10 years.

Pat told how the show wasn’t as big of a part of his life as people think, with filming only taking up 10 weeks in total.

The 59-year-old telly star told the Daily Star: "It took me one week a year. We did seven days' filming, two shows a day and it ran for three-and-a-half months a year.

"But people think it's my whole life. They go: 'Where are the twins? Don't you all live together?'

"No, we don't all live in a Fun House together. The twins have their own lives, own partners, own children, but they're still very good friends with my family."

Martina now works for cosmetics brand Clarins while Melanie runs a Wetherspoon pub. The pair are now 48.

Pat has continued to stay in the spotlight somewhat and is a DJ on Greatest Hits Radio.

The former telly star, who appeared on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2011, also revealed how he was in the process of trying to bring back Fun House before the pandemic struck and scuppered his plans.

The show was due to morph into a live action game for adults.

He told the publication: "It was already quite a long way down the line, close to happening, and it's still in the pipeline.

“It will be an interactive attraction for adults where you can play the games, get messy, drive a go-kart, get the prizes and then have a dance and a drink.

"But imagine a bunch of adults in a ball pond and sweating now - it's a no-no at the moment."

Pat has new "autobiography" out this week, Re-Run The Fun: My Life As Pat Sharp.

But the new book has a twist as most of it isn't true and many of the events described in it didn't actually happen.

Pat explained how he didn't want to do an autobiography as it would be a “boring listing” what he’d done.

"Instead it's a spiced-up spoof memoir of my life, a timeline of my career, things I have done and people I have met - but did I inspire Geri Halliwell to wear a Union Jack dress? Probably not."

He also details a made-up moment when he tried to break up a fight between rockers Liam Gallagher and Damon Albarn.

It reads: "I let Liam run his fingers through my hair for half an hour before distracting Damon with some devastating wordplay - 'How's your night been? A blur?' - and we just about got away with it.

"Although I later learned the pair had a drunken punch-up in the garden minutes after I left."
