Nicola Peltz has talked about why she didn't wear a Victoria Beckham dress when she married Brooklyn amid family feud

Nicola Peltz has opened up about the real reason she didn't wear a Victoria Beckham dress when she tied the knot with Brooklyn.

Family feud rumours have circulated ever since the wedding where Nicola opted for a custom Valentino gown instead of something designed by her mother-in-law.

However, the newly married couple addressed the rumours in their first interview since the £3million ceremony in Florida.

Nicola, 27 and Brooklyn, 23 sat down with Variety where they talked about the wedding dress controversy.

The actress said about wearing a VB wedding dress: "I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realised that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress.

"She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that."

Brooklyn chimed in trying to diffuse the rumours that Nicola and his mum Victoria don't see eye to eye.

He said: "I’ve learned they’re always going to write stuff like that.

"They’re always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good."

Fans have noticed that Victoria and Nicola don't seem as close as they used to due to recently not supporting each other's social media posts.

Ahead of the wedding the pair would often like and comment on each other's posts but rarely do now.

However, Nicola did wish Victoria a happy birthday back in April of this year.

But recently Nicola sparked the rumours again when she shared photos on her Instagram looking teary eyed, saying she found it hard to show the 'sad bits' of herself.

She said: "Sometimes I find it hard to show the sad bits of me. Growing up with seven siblings and two very strong parents, made me really tough, they hammered it into me to not let people bring me down or hurt my heart. It made me put such a wall up to protect myself especially in this industry.

It has been rumoured that Victoria and Nicola haven't been getting along

"We all have days where people make you feel bad and it’s okay to be hurt by it. I just thought I would write something because I never show this side of me here. I wanted to show this side of me.

"I love you all so much and truly appreciate all of your support. It means so much when you guys are kind on my page I want you to know I see you, I hear you, and it means a lot to me."

Despite Victoria not interacting with the post at all, husband Brooklyn showed his support in the comments.

He said: "You have the most amazing heart xx I love you so so much xx"
