Netflix star Daisy Coleman's mum Melinda took her own life just four months after mourning her daughter's death.
Melinda was found dead on Sunday evening, only months after her daughter Daisy died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound aged 23 while she was on FaceTime to her boyfriend.
Daisy was propelled into the limelight after she spoke about her haunting experience of sexual assault at 14 in Netflix's documentary Audrie & Daisy in 2016.
SafeBae - a sex assault prevention group which was first set up by Daisy - broke the sad news of the grieving mother's death on Instagram.
The post read: "We are in shock and disbelief to share with our SafeBae family, that we lost Melinda Coleman to suicide this evening."
Melinda has left behind her loving sons Logan and Charlie.
SafeBae also paid a poignant tribute to the "gifted veterinarian, devoted mother and wife, and talented body builder".
The post added: "The bottomless grief of losing her husband, Tristan and Daisy was more than she could face most days. Melinda was a gifted veterinarian, devoted mother and wife, and talented body builder.
"More than anything, she loved and believed in her children. It is no accident that she created some of the most gifted, passionate, and resilient children.
"Our hearts are with Logan and Charlie. There are no words for our sadness, only that if you are struggling with trauma or depression, you are not alone."
Tragedy has followed the Coleman family.
They lost Melinda's husband and Daisy's dad Michael died in a car accident when the vehicle hit black ice in 2009.
The family grieved the death of Melinda's son and Daisy's brother Tristan aged 19 in a one-vehicle crash.
Before her death, Melinda shared her heartache over her daughter's suicide as she revealed they were really close and Daisy was her best friend.
She told The Sun : "She was my best friend, and she would say the same, we talked every day. We were really close.
"I really thought we were past this [her feeling suicidal], in my heart, but then she got hit with a lot of stuff recently.
"She just found out weeks before that she couldn't have children. She was very upset about that."
