Miley Cyrus has revealed one of her pet dogs almost died after biting through cables and getting electrocuted on set of The Voice.

The 27-year-old chart-topping star has been a judge on the USA version of The Voice since 2016 – and her four-year-old beagle, Barbie, who she affectionately called “Little Dog”, gave her a huge scare on the current season.

Miley shared the traumatising story while appearing on US radio show Geena The Latina and Frankie V Morning Show on Friday.

The star explained that the crew of The Voice helplessly watched the pup get shocked with volts of electricity after biting through a cable – with no one able to help her in case they too got electrocuted.

She explained” “You know on sets there’s like wires everywhere. We got all the people singing, everyone is huddled around.

“My dog goes and bites on to the wires of the TV everyone’s watching and all of a sudden we notice she’s convulsing and getting electrocuted.”

She continued: “You can’t open her mouth because the person who would try to open her mouth would also be electrocuted. But my dog got electrocuted on The Voice.”

She assured everyone that Barbie is alive and well, saying: “It was sad, but it was handled and she’s totally thriving and fine.”

Sharing more stories about her dogs – of which she famously owns many – the star suggested her four legged pets rule the roost at her many homes.

She said: “A lot of my dogs can open doors, for some reason.

“I would lock them out of my set that I made but when they want to come in, they just let themselves in.”

She added: “My dogs rule my entire house. I think one day they’re going to be in my bed and I will be on the floor.”
