Michael Owen has admitted he fears seeing daughter Gemma kissing on Love Island.

Gemma is currently partnered with Luca Bish after he opted to couple up with her on Friday night's episode - a move which allowed Davide Sanclimenti to select newcomer Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.

"If there is physical contact I think I'll be throwing something at the screen. I don't want to see kissing. Do not make me see kissing!" he said in an interview with the Daily Mail.

The former England footballer revealed he was shocked after Gemma, 19, shared a bed with 27-year old Italian Davide, but praised her for keeping her distance under the sheets.

"It's not something any father wants to watch, is it? I said to [my wife] Louise, 'do they really have to sleep together, like in the same bed?'. She said 'yes'. I said 'I did not bank on this'."

"Luckily for me, there was no physical contact and Gemma had her back to the guy. There was space between them. I thought, "Good girl". No father wants to see physical contact, do they? I certainly don't."

Gemma was left stunned at the end of Friday night's episode, meanwhile, when she appeared to clock an ex-boyfriend entering the villa.

"Oh my God! That's my ex-boyfriend!" she exclaimed as the new arrival strutted in wearing blue swimming shorts.

He is understood to be 23-year old Castleford Tigers rugby star Jacques O’Neill.

The club issued a statement on Friday night, which read: "Castleford Tigers can confirm that the Club has agreed to release Jacques O’Neill from his contract to allow him to pursue another opportunity."

Gemma was clearly shocked by the identity of the villa's newcomer on Friday

Prior to the new arrival, the contestants were shocked by Liam Llewellyn 's decision to leave the show.

"Obviously we all came here for the same sort of reason, but I haven't been giving 100 per cent Liam. I know what 100 per cent Liam is and I'm miles off that," he told the group.

Following news of his impending departure Gemma admitted she "felt proper guilty" for the role she played in his decision to quit.

"I wasn't expecting that from you. It's just a shame because we started it together and it will be weird not having you around, I do care for you and it will be weird." she told him.
