Michael Jackson’s pet chimp, Bubbles, had terrible toilet manners, Toto singer Steve Lukather has claimed.
And according to the musician, the ape was banned from Westlake Studios in West Hollywood - where MJ was working in 1982 on his album Thriller - because he launched his own faeces at the walls and trashed the area when Dirty Diana hitmaker Michael was recording Beat It.
Steve shared the bizarre story during an interview with Ultimate Guitar and detailed the animal's bad habits and reflected on the late Michael - who died in 2009 - as a "cool" person.
He said: “He stopped bringing [Bubbles] because he tore apart the vocal booth and threw s*** against the wall.
“That monkey just ripped that f***ing booth to shreds. They banned him from the studio. But Michael was cool, man, he was a pro. He’d sing his a** off.”
In the 80s Bubbles was undoubtedly the most famous chimpanzee on the planet as he was "best friend" of chart-topper Michael.
Bubbles was born in 1983 at a medical lab in Texas and sold to Jackson when he was eight months old.
The superstar was often seen cuddling the baby chimp, who he dressed in outfits to match his own and made him sleep in pyjamas in a cot next to his bed.
The little chimp could even do the Moonwalk and used to make crowds go wild when he covered his ears whenever the words "heavy metal" were mentioned.
By 1988, the year Jackson moved into his fabled Neverland ranch, Bubbles was gone and was housed with Hollywood ape trainer Bob Dunn.
When Jacko had his children, Bubbles was deemed too dangerous to be around young children and his life in the spotlight was over.
Jackson even admitted to TV interviewer Martin Bashir in 2003 that the chimp had been banished from his life because he was "too aggressive".
The former celebrity chimp is now living out his days in an animal sanctuary in Florida.
