Mel B’s ex-husband has branded her a “crazy, alcoholic drug user” with a “poisoned mind” in his latest bitter attack.
Stephen Belafonte made the claims as the warring pair filed paperwork for the latest bout in their long court battle.
Leeds-born Spice Girl Mel, 45, and American TV producer Belafonte, 44, split three years ago but remain at loggerheads over access to daughter Madison, eight.
In legal documents filed in Los Angeles, he also slams the singer as “despicable” and a “weird psycho”.
But Mel calls out his “rants” – and hits back by claiming Belafonte has stopped her FaceTiming Madison during the coronavirus lockdowns in the US and UK.
The papers say: “Melanie has asked Stephen multiple times to only discuss matters related to co-parenting Madison, and to stop harassing Melanie with his inappropriate comments but he has continued with his rants.”
Madison is currently staying with Belafonte in LA while Mel, real name Melanie Brown, is in the UK.
And the documents state: “There have been multiple court orders issued that permit FaceTime calls with Madison at designated times.
"However, Melanie has found it extremely difficult to have these FaceTime calls because Stephen either prohibits the calls from taking place or makes various excuses why the calls did not take place.
"Stephen has been refusing to allow Melanie consistent FaceTime contact with Madison as ordered by the court. This is a continuing issue.
“Stephen will continue to alienate Melanie from Madison’s life unless the Court takes a decisive step the only way Stephen will understand, namely hurting Stephen’s pocket book.”
Mel also claims Belafonte bought a £1million home despite claiming to have an income of just £800 a month.
He is said to earn a living as a showbiz manager – but refuses to reveal his clients to Mel and her legal team.
Scary Spice star Mel – who also has daughters Phoenix, 21, and Angel, 13 – is accusing him of hiding his real income and wants his claim that she pay £150,000 towards his legal fees thrown out. She also says she has spent more than £170,000 trying to find out details of his income.
The papers say: “Stephen states under penalty of perjury he receives zero income in salaries or wages, and only earns $1,000 per month ‘from odd jobs and projects’, despite the fact that he states that he has expenses exceeding $25,000 per month.
“Stephen had purchased a home in Los Angeles in Jul 2019 for $1,425,000.
This is the same time period that Stephen claims on his July 12, 2019 Income and Expense Declaration that he was only earning $1,000 per month from ‘odd jobs and projects’.”
