Megan Barton-Hanson confessed that he didn't even recognise herself in an image from two years ago, saying she looked "sad and broken".
The Love Island beauty urged her fans to reach out to their friends, including the ones that seem happy, as she said you never really know what's going on with someone unless you ask.
The 26-year-old also warned that it's the people who seem the strongest who are the best at "masking their mental health".
Her message came after she saw a video of herself posing for make up artist Emma Chloe in 2018.
One still from the video resonated with Megan, who said she felt she looked "sad and broken".
Sharing it on her Instagram story, she penned: "I saw this video come up from two years ago, I didn't even recognise myself. I mean my makeup looks insane. And obviously it's me but I look so sad and broken. So I wanted to share two things with you
"1) people put on a front. CHECK IN ON YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. Especially the most outwardly happy, wealthy, loud, successful and strong ones.
"They can be the best at masking their mental health because they are 'the strong one'.
"2) Just a gentle reminder to love yourself especially through dark times. when you can't see things getting better anytime soon, I promise they will.
"Life and your mental health are journeys, constant ups and downs but the highs are so much more special when you've pulled yourself out of that low."
She went on: "That got soo deep but yeah shocked me to see how sad I looked. And if my rambling resonated with even a few of you that's the goal."
Megan has been very open about her mental health battles in a bid to help others.
She previously said in an interview: "I have struggled with this on and off throughout my life. Depression.
"I remember even this year in January I was on the sofa with my mum asking her permission. Asking 'can I kill myself?'
"And there was nothing she could do. She told me to call 111. It’s the worst thing watching someone you love suffer. And you can't help someone who doesn’t want to be helped, they can't see the light."
