The Wanted's Max George has admitted that his girlfriend thought him signing up to Strictly Come Dancing was a wind up.

The former boyband star, 32, who is in a relationship with Stacey Giggs, 41, has shared on her reaction to finding out he was set to appear on the BBC show.

Proving that Stacey thought Max's was teasing about competing for the famous glitterball trophy, Max says that Stacey burst into laughter when he broke the news.

Stacey was the first person that Max shared the exciting news with and when asked on her reaction Max told that she "laughed and then laughed a bit more."

Max continued: "I think she thought I was joking at first and I told her I was serious and she thinks it’s great I’m doing it and can’t wait to watch."

He then joked: "She gets a break from me for a few weeks so she’s probably delighted."

Stacey and Max began dating 2018 after being introduced by mutual pals.

Stacey was previously married to football legend Ryan Giggs - who she shares kids Liberty, 17, and 13-year-old Zachary with -but they ended their union in 2017 after the love rat sportsman cheated on Stacey with his own brother’s wife.

Soon after Stacey and Max met they decided to moved in together.

And proving that Max is set to marry Stacey, he previously told The Sun: “I’ve always said I’ve wanted kids but never committed to it in my own head but I think Stacey’s the one.

“We would love to add to the family at some point, that would be amazing. Obviously there are no guarantees but I’m sure we both feel the same way.”

Max has also formed a close bond with Stacey's two children.

The Glad You Game singer has told: "We’re really close; we were close from day one. With me moving in with Stacey - because that was her family home - and the kids, you become such a tight unit. We are getting closer every day.”
