There have been many gamers that have fantasized about playing a fully fledged Avengers game. Being able to control Iron Man and his pulse canons or Hulk with his incredible strength just sounds so pleasing. Fortunately, fans are finally getting these experiences in Marvel’s Avengers.
It’s an action-adventure game featuring third-person visuals and is being developed by Crystal Dynamics. Based on the gameplay trailers that have come out throughout 2020, it’s shaping up to be an incredible superhero game.
Things haven’t always been easy for the developer, though. They’ve had to delay the game multiple times, which has become customary for a lot of other companies during the Covid pandemic. At long last — though — there is now light at the end of the tunnel. The official release date is September 4.
Fortunately, gamers looking to experience all of this incredible superhero action won’t have to wait until September. There will be betas on multiple platforms starting in August. That’s just a month away. Square Enix has provided some beta schedules for the Xbox One, PC, and PS4.
Those that pre-order the game on the PS4 will have first dibs and then open betas will be available on different consoles in the following weeks. Whichever time window you fall into, you’ll be able to check out some of the campaign and enjoy co-op. That should give fans a pretty good look of what they can experience come September when Marvel’s Avengers releases on all platforms.
And before the beta, there will be a second showcase of the game on July 29 through the War Table Presentation. The first one showcased a lot of gameplay and broke down some more of the story.
After being framed for a cataclysmic event, the Avengers disbanded. This allowed the game’s main villain to come to power, which is none other than M.O.D.O.K. The story picks up with the Avengers living different lives, but having to regroup to take down M.O.D.O.K. before total chaos ensues.
You can expect to see more superheroes teased in this second showcase. It would be great to see more of Captain American and Hulk. They’re certainly fan-favorites.
Crystal Dynamics is taking the Avengers franchise in a unique direction and if this upcoming game does well, it could very well be the start of something truly special. If you enjoy these superheroes, that’s what you’re rooting for at the moment. We’ll get a pretty good impression of the game’s potential when gamers get their hands on the betas come August.
