Martin Bashir visits takeaway after BBC says he's 'too ill' to respond to Princess Diana claims

A photograph has emerged of Martin Bashir carrying a takeaway bag after the BBC said he was too ill to respond to accusations about his infamous Princess Diana interview.
Diana's brother Earl Spencer claimed he was shown false financial documents by Bashir so that the then Panorama reporter could gain access to Diana in 1995.
A new photo, taken on Friday evening, appears to show Bashir walking to his north London home carrying a bag from an Indian takeaway.
In a statement given to Sky News, the BBC previously said that they would "get to the bottom" of the accusations swirling around the interview.
The statement also confirmed 57-year-old Bashir is still signed off work and not yet in a position to respond to the claims.
They said: "The BBC has made clear it will investigate the issues raised and that this will be independent.
"We will set out the terms of reference in due course. We will do everything possible to get to the bottom of this.
"Martin Bashir is signed off work by his doctors as he is currently recovering from quadruple heart bypass surgery and has significant complications from having contracted Covid-19 earlier in the year."
The sighting came after BBC boss Tim Davie apologised to Princess Diana's brother Earl Spencer after the broadcaster admitted that Bashir had shown Earl Spencer fake bank statements prior to his interview, that had been made by a graphic designer.
An internal review of Bashir's conduct carried out by the BBC in 1996 found that the fake bank statements had not helped the journalist gain his sit down chat with the Princess of Wales.
Nearly 23 million viewers had tuned into the watch Diana tell Bashir 'there were three people in the marriage' as she hinted at Charles' affair with his now wife Camilla Parker Bowles.
Diana tragically died in a car crash in Paris two years later.
Earlier this month, her brother Earl Spencer shared with the Daily Mail notes of his meeting with Bashir and Diana in 1995.
He accused Bashir of making wild claims that convinced Diana to speak out.
According to Spencer, the bank statements were just the start.
