Strictly star Maisie Smith has revealed her DMs have been full of messages from secret admirers since she started dancing on the BBC One show.

The EastEnders actress, 19, is competing with her partner Gorka Marquez for a chance to lift the Glitterball Trophy, and it seems her sexy samba routine has impressed many.

Maisie said a couple of people - including footballers - have messaged her since she performed the samba with professional dancer Gorka.

However the actress revealed she is not dating at the moment and is happy single.

She told new! magazine: "There's been a couple of boys sliding into my DMs! People saw me shake my hips on the samba and it tickled a couple of feathers! So I've had a couple of people message me."

A smitten Maisie added: "I've had messages from a couple of footballers, but I can't say who - it wouldn't be fair."

The stunning soap star confessed she wants to remain single until she's ready to "open up to someone else".

"But to be honest, with Strictly and lockdown, I'm not dating. I love being single, I'm finding happiness within myself and it's taken me a long time to do that. I'm trying to focus on that before I open up to someone else," Maisie said.

It comes after Maisie sparked romance rumours with her Strictly co-star HRVY.

The actress and 21-year-old YouTuber are the youngest contestants on this year's show, so Maisie was not surprised when she heard the public are rooting for the pair to get together.

However, she set records straight and revealed they are nothing more than friends.

"I was expecting these romance rumours from day one," she told Daily Star.

"I’m 19, he’s 21, we’re both single, so I feel like it was inevitable – but we’re just good pals at the moment.

"When I commented on his Instagram – I literally said he looked like spaghetti – everyone went mad calling me a flirt.

"I’m enjoying getting to know him, we have a connection, but we’re just friends."

She also previously told OK! that there has been "flanter" (flirty banter) between the pair.

When quizzed about whether their flirting could lead to something more serious in the future, the actress teased that she hadn't ruled anything out so far.

"I think it would depend on how we did it," she continued.

"Right now... I think it'd be a 'no' as I love the friendship we have and I don't want to ruin that, but I don't know what's going to happen a couple of months down the line."
