Machine Gun Kelly had to go to therapy to deal with his drug abuse problems, a new report from Page Six said today. The 30-year-old rapper-turned-actor spoke with Dave Franco for Interview Magazine, discussing how he turned to professional help to help him with substance abuse.
The rapper admitted that for the first time ever, he sat down with a therapist and it has already impacted the way he feels and thinks a lot. He explained that the real drug he loved was “happiness” and “commitment to the art,” rather than a substance that he thought helped him make art.

MGK went on to say that he was “taking the steps” to get better. According to the rapper-turned-rocker, he realized there was a difference between Machine Gun Kelly and Colson Baker. He had to separate those two personas.
At this point, Baker said he was feeling a bit impatient because he just started. The star rhetorically asked Dave why he wasn’t “changing overnight,” before going on to say that he couldn’t even sit by himself at night and meditate for ten minutes without doing something to distract himself.

However, Baker admitted he was working hard at it, and more importantly, his dedication to continously improving has been “inspiring.” Furthermore, Colson has said that he has been speaking with Travis Barker from Blink-182 for guidance.
The two have collaborated a couple of times including on his latest album. The star said it was a lot easier for someone like Travis Barker to explain to him what he was going through because he has worked through all of the same challenges before.
Baker says his girlfriend, Megan Fox, has been there for him as well. There are times when he feels a lot of darkness, and just having another voice gives him a new perspective.
As it was previously reported, Fox and Baker announced their relationship back in July of this year after a few weeks of rumors. Baker said it was the first time he has ever been in love.
