Macaulay Culkin just revealed what Kevin McCallister would actually be like today

Macaulay Culkin is celebrating his 42d birthday, which is sure to make lots of us feel incredibly old. The child actor shot to fame playing lovable rogue Kevin McAllister in the first Home Alone movie and its sequel, Lost in New York.

Macaulay, who was just 10-years-old at the time, was cast as the cheeky eight-year-old, who was incredibly skilled at creating harmful contraptions to stop the hapless burglars. The young actor went on to appear in My Girl, The Nutcracker, The Good Son, Getting Even With Dad and Richie Rich and hosted Saturday Night Live.

Macaulay became friends with Michael Jackson, famously appearing in the music video for 'Black or White', and is godfather to the pop singer's kids Paris, Prince and Michael Jr.

After making a whopping 15 movies in just seven years, he then decided to take a four-year break from acting to attend a private high school.

At the age of 14, Macuaulay controversially divorced from his parents to stop them controlling his vast fortune as they battled for custody after they split.

"Our 1994 divorce was one of the best things that's ever happened as it led to me leaving the industry, he said on Marc Maron's WTF podcast 2018.

"I wanted to take a break for a while and eventually I was like, 'I'm done guys, hope you all made your money because there is no more coming from me."

It was reported the teen wanted to keep his hands solely on the £13million fortune he'd amassed and to stop his parents, Kit and Patricia, from controlling his future.

"Look, I mean, it sucks. But, it coulda been worse, you know?" he told Esquire in 2020.

"I wasn't working in a coal mine. I wasn't a child soldier. My father was not sexually abusing me. Certain f***ed up things happened, but f****d up things happen to kids all the time and they don’t come out the other end."

Aged 18 he married actress Rachel Miner, which ended in divorce, then had an eight-year relationship with Hollywood star Mila Kunis.

However, he's been in a relationship with Changeland co-star Brenda Song for four years and last year they they welcomed their first child together.

Baby Dakota was named as a tribute to Macaulay's late sister, who sadly passed away from her injuries after she stepped in front of a moving vehicle outside a Los Angeles bar in 2008.

In January this year, it was rumoured that Macaulay had popped the question to former Disney Channel star Brenda, who is famed for her roles in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and The Social Network.

After returning to acting, Macaulay then headed on stage with The Pizza Underground - a food-based covers band playing Velvet Underground hits - playing the kazoo.

He reprised the role of Kevin for Google Assistant adverts and is starring in the 10th season of American Horror Story.

In 2021, Mack also revealed that he auditioned to play Brad Pitt's role in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood but it was a "disaster" as he hadn't been through the process for eight years.

The actor confirmed he would not be appearing in the Home Sweet Home Alone reboot but wished all involved "the best of luck".

While acting is on the back burner now, Macaulay is CEO and publisher of a satirical pop culture website and podcast called Bunny Ears.

He even held a contest allowing people to vote on a new middle name for him — changing it from Carson to either Macaulay Culkin, Kieran, TheMcRibIsBack, Publicity Stunt, and Shark Week.

The clear winner was 'Macaulay Culkin' with a whopping 61,000 votes, so the former child star legally changed his name to Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin.

Things are going very well for the Home Alone star right now but he does have one major regret - not pursuing a job in the WWE.

Macuulay, who is a big wrestling fan, has had opportunities to join the wrestling entertainment business behind-the-scenes but has never taken the chance.

Speaking to fellow actor Freddie Prinze Jr. on his Wresting With Freddie podcast in January, he said: "Oh man, there were times when I wanted to, like, kind of just find six months of my life at the very least just to kinda go in there and stuff.

"I will say I kind of regret not [writing for WWE]—now that I’m a dad I barely have time to pee at this point, you know what I mean? I just never got around to it, there was always something."
