Luca Bish still hasn’t met Gemma Owen’s protective dad Michael after party snub

Luca Bish and Michael Owen have yet to meet up in person - and the Love Island hunk say he hasn't got the desired 'written permission' to make things official from Gemma's mum Louise yet

Luca Bish is still to get the all important seal of approval from Gemma Owen's football star dad Michael.

The Love Island finalist has had to make do with just a Facetime call with the former England and Liverpool goalscorer when co-star Gemma finally introduced him to her old man - albeit virtually.

A week after Luca's return to the UK he still hasn't met Gemma's famous dad.

The 23-year-old missed on an invite to Gemma's family reunion at the weekend, despite appearing to get on well with Gemma's glamorous mum Louise in the Meet the Parents episode and seeing her again at Stansted Airport as the finalists landed.

During Sunday night's reunion show, host Laura Whitmore quizzed Luca on whether he had spoken to the protective football pundit yet.

She put to him: "I know you've met her mum, have you met her dad yet?"

Luca replied: "Not yet, we've had a little FaceTime together and that's it."

She then referenced the apparent comparisons between Luca and Michael and joked: "Was it like looking at yourself in the future?"

Red-face Gemma mumbled: "Oh, God!' I can't see it at all, you know? And it actually makes me feel a little bit sick thinking about it as well!"

Laura teased: "They say that we all have that complex where you go for one of your parents!"

The asked about Gemma's mum, the fishmonger replied: "Louise is a lovely woman."

Jacques O'Neill then chimed in: "But has she given her permission?"

It comes after Luca admitted to a squabble at the Love Island reunion

Laughing, Luca admitted: "No, I haven't had written permission yet!"

Louise previously shared her concerns over Luca and Dami Hope's behaviour towards Tasha Ghouri.

She said it was "close to bullying" which was "so sad to see".

Fans were quick to have a laugh at the expense of the couple after they appeared on the reunion show.

One person wrote on twitter: "THE ONLY REASON GEMMA AND LUCA ARE STILL GOING IS BECAUSE HE HASNT MET MICHEAL OWEN IN THE FLESH."

Another said: "Luca just wants to meet Micheal Owen, he's not even interested in Gemma."

Gemma and Luca went head-to-head with Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack, Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti in the Love Island final.
