Love Island winner Greg O’Shea has revealed he’s set to become a lawyer more than a year after his stint on the reality show.
The rugby ace, from Co Limerick, Ireland, has revealed how he’s shut himself off from the world for the last few months in order to get his head in the books as he studied for his law exams.
The 25-year-old reality star was crowned winner of the hit ITV dating show last summer alongside Amber Gill.
But just a little over a month after departing the iconic Spanish villa, Greg and Amber endured an epic breakup.
Once the news of their split broke, the professional rugby player faced non-stop backlash from obsessed Love Island fans, who branded him a 'f**kboy' for dumping Amber as soon as the pair bagged the £50,000 cash prize.
Geordie lass Amber, 21, claimed that her lover boy dumped her over text, which resulted in the Irish heartthrob losing over 400,000 followers on social media in one week.
Greg has spent the last year since appearing on the show mostly out of the spotlight, and took to his Instagram on Tuesday to tell fans what he’s been up to.
In an excited video posted to his 1.1million followers, Greg appeared in a black baseball hat and a white and black v-neck Nike sports vest to tell how he’d completed his law exams.
“I just submitted my last exam and I’m done,” he beamed.
“Oh my god, I cannot believe I’m finished.
“These last couple of months have been the hardest couple of months in my life, and I hate complaining but this challenge has been ridiculous.
“I’ve played in front of tens of thousands of people, I’ve been on TV shows in front of millions of people, but this is easily the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do these law exams.”
The reality star went on to explain how he doesn’t want to go into law at this point in his life but felt the urge to finish his course.
“It’s probably because I don’t even need them. I don’t really want to be a solicitor right now in my life but I said I’d do the exams, I did them. I’ve done the work.
“I don’t know if I passed but look, I tried my absolute best, there’s nothing else I could have done.”
He admitted how he shut himself off from the world for the last few months in order to get his head in the books.
He added: “I haven’t seen my friends in weeks, I haven’t seen my family in weeks… or anything like that in months.
“But you know what? I kept up my work, I kept up my training for these exams and who knows. I hope this influences someone to just go out there, just try something, just challenge yourself.
“I cannot believe I’m done!” he signed off before dropping his head into his hands and dropping his phone.
The rugby star recently revealed how he’s glad he turned his back on the vacuous ‘red carpet’ world in order to chase his dream of playing rugby in the Olympics after winning the dating the show alongside Amber.
He said: “People think I’m really loaded but I threw away that golden ticket when I decided not to move to London.
“The Olympics is the dream and I’d also like to do a website or an app to do with fitness.
