Love Island star left terrified after finding tracking device hidden in her car

Maria Wild, 25, asked her Instagram followers for advice after she discovered a tracker in the spare wheel in the boot of her car. The model drove to her home, revealing her address to the crook who had targeted her

Love Island 's Maria Wild has shared her terror at discovering a tracking device had been put on her car - allowing crooks to have access to her home address.

The TV star, who featured in season five of the ITV dating show, said she was terrified that "someone was watching my every move."

The Casa Amor bombshell said she made the chilling discovery after getting an alert on her phone - after she had already driven home.

Taking to Instagram, Maria told her 76,000 followers: "I got into my car to drive home at 2.30am last night and someone had put a tracker on my car.

"My phone notified me of this but by the time I realised what was going on I had driven to my home address, which would be visible to the owner of the device.

"I have had law enforcement officers come to try and locate it but they cannot and I cannot disable the device without physically having it.

"Does anyone know or have any ideas of what I could do? So scary to know someone now knows my home address, and can watch my every move."

She also shared the horrifying moment that she found an Apple AirTag hidden in the spare wheel inside her car boot.

The AirTag is designed to be used on luggage, valuables and even pets to help locate them.

The Apple site says: "AirTag was designed to help people locate their personal belongings, not to track people or another person's property, and we condemn in the strongest possible terms any malicious use of our products."

"Unwanted tracking has long been a societal problem, and we took this concern seriously in the design of AirTag.

"It's why the Find My network is built with privacy in mind, uses end-to-end encryption, and why we innovated with the first-ever proactive system to alert you of unwanted tracking."

"We hope this starts an industry trend for others to also provide these sorts of proactive warnings in their products."

Maria arrived at Casa Amor on Day 26 and was ditched from the island just four days later.

The model struggled to make a connection with any of the boys that year.
