Perrie Edwards is preparing to set the charts alight with her debut solo single in the very near future.

The mum-of-one is currently "having fun discovering" her sound ahead of officially releasing any music, but fans have been teased the star's new solo songs will "blow everyone's minds".

Following Little Mix 's hiatus beginning earlier this year, the music industry has been buzzing as work on solo singles from Perrie's bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirwall is already underway.

After the trio performed for the final time together on stage in May, both Jade and Leigh-Anne went on to confirm they had penned solo record deals, but all had seemingly been quiet when it came to Perrie's post-band career moves.

Perrie Edwards' collaborator confessed the humble star is 'worried and insecure' at times in the studio

But singer Kamille has now revealed the star - who recently announced her engagement to footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - has been working away in the studio just like her former bandmates.

Perrie is said to be calling on the talents of British producer Fred Again and songwriter Steve Mac - who has penned top hits for the likes of Calvin Harris and One Direction - ahead of her

"There's so many things that they're interested in, I couldn't pinpoint it to one thing. The best thing right now is that we're having fun discovering," Kamille, who is also collaborating with the singer, told OfficialCharts.com. "I couldn't even pinpoint it, but just know it's going to blow everyone's minds."

Perrie's Little Mix bandmates are also set to release solo material very soon

Despite being a multi-awarding winning singer, Perrie is said to be nervous about her talents ahead of her big solo venture.

"Perrie will get in the booth and she'll be so worried and insecure. Even when I was with her the other week with Steve Mac, she got into the booth and was like 'I don't know if I can do it'," says Kamille.

"I looked at her and I was like 'are you actually serious? Your voice is one of the best voices I've ever heard, hands down.' She's incredible. She doesn't even know how good she is, and that's one of the most beautiful things about Perrie; she's so humble."

The Geordie singer is following in the footsteps of her bandmates Jade - who is signed to Sony's RCA Records and Harry Styles 's management team - and Leigh-Anne as they all embark on life away from Little Mix.

Perrie previously admitted all three women will be in communication regarding their solo careers to avoid any awkward clashes.

"We've all said we will let each other know when we’re going to release so we don’t end up clashing in the charts. We’re rooting for each other, not competing against each other," she told The Sun earlier this year.

Leigh-Anne - who also became a first-time mum to twins last year - added: "We are so close and that’s the thing. We’re all going to be in communication about this the whole time."

The 30-year-old said that their friendship is too important to jeopardise and they want to ensure that they are not getting in each others' way after they each start their solo career.

Their last concert was live streamed from the O2 Arena on Saturday May 14 in London around the world.

The music world is also eagerly awaiting Leigh-Anne's solo material

Leigh-Anne, Perrie and Jade all broke down in tears throughout the night, as they came to the end of their 'Confetti' tour and prepared to go on a hiatus as a band.

The talented trio - who announced their plans for a break in December 2021 - all wept as they belted out some of their biggest hits, including Shout Out To My Ex, Heartbreak Anthem and Break Up Song.

As the one-time X Factor winners reflected on their decade together, former bandmate Jesy Nelson was seemingly absent from montages and speeches - following her December 2020 exit from the group and subsequent comments.

Jesy dramatically quit the band in order to prioritise her mental health and subsequently went on to launch a solo career last year, before parting ways with her record label after releasing just one single.

The star had been part of Polydor's roster of talent for just over a year, but revealed she was now looking to "move in a new direction" with her music career earlier this month.

She released the single 'Boyz' featuring Nicki Minaj in May, but no further tracks have been forthcoming.

Confirming the news, a spokesperson for Jesy told the Mirror: "[She] feels now is the right for her to move in a new direction. As a result, she has decided to part company with Polydor."
