Lisa Maffia has detailed her agony over her mum's terminal cancer diagnosis, at a time when she is waiting for her own test results following a scare.
Yesterday, the 41-year-old spoke out to urge her fans to go ahead with their smear tests after abnormal cells were found in her cervix.
She's had the cells removed but faces a three-month wait to discover whether or not they're cancerous.
As she awaits her test results, Lisa shared her mum Shirley's tragic story.
Sobbing, she revealed that her mum's cervical cancer spread all over her body, and that it's now terminal.
Shirley, 65, missed her smear test for five years and was only diagnosed with cervical cancer after suffering from a pain in her leg and constant bleeding.
Lisa told The Sun Online : "She’s quite a proud and self-conscious person and gets embarrassed. Going to the doctors and getting a smear she thought it was quite invasive and she put it off."
She added: "Cancer can grow so quickly, by the time she started to get an ache in her leg and the constant bleeding that alerted her to go to the doctors - it was two years too late.
"She had cervical cancer and it had spread to her lymph node glands and collar bone."
Shirley's battle with cancer saw her have so much chemotherapy and radiotherapy that she lost a kidney.
She went into remission for seven years but the cancer came back all over her body.
She's now unable to have any more treatment and is living with terminal cancer.
Lisa says she's watched cancer "tear" her mum's body apart, all because she "missed a test that takes five minutes and it's done".
Lisa told her fans about her own scare yesterday.
She said: "I had cancerous cells that needed to be burned away.
