Lily James breaks silence as kiss partner Dominic West returns home to his wife
Actress Lily James has returned to work on a video call to promote her new film Rebecca hours after Dominic West returned home to put on a united front with his wife
Lily James has returned to work and faced the cameras for the first time since her headline-grabbing trip to Italy with Dominic West.
The actress, 31, was seen kissing and cuddling the married man over an intimate lunch in Rome on Sunday.
Dominic, 50, has since returned home and he put on a united front with his wife Catherine Fitzgerald - kissing for the cameras and declaring they are still "very much" together.
Now Lily has emerged and returned to work, taking part in a video call to promote her new film Rebecca - a new adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's classic novel.
She stars alongside Armie Hammer, who plays the role of widower Maxim de Winter made famous by Laurence Olivier in Alfred Hitchcock's Oscar-winning 1940 film version.
Armie shared a picture of a video call he took part in alongside Lily, declaring: "Press tours are so glamorous in 2020."
It showed the two actors doing an interview from home to promote the film, with Armie seen on screen raising his phone to take a picture of the chat.
Lily was seen to his left, wearing a grey and white dress and sitting in front of a large fireplace with a TV mounted overhead.
The former Downton Abbey star was thrust into the spotlight this week after pictures emerged showing her getting close to Dominic on their trip to Rome.
Dominic - who has been married to Catherine for 10 years and has four children with her - was seen snuggling Lily's neck and stroking her her over an intimate lunch.
They were also seen hopping onto a scooter together, with Dominic wrapping his arms around Lily, who is his co-star in new TV drama The Pursuit of Love.
Lily is newly-single after splitting from her boyfriend of five years, Matt Smith, last week.
Yesterday, Dominic and his partner were pictured kissing and cuddling outside their Wiltshire home, with the actor declaring the marriage is "still strong" and they are "very much still together".
However, despite the very public show of unity, friends close to Catherine have claimed to the MailOnline that she is seething about those pictures of her husband.

"She is privately fuming,' they said. "There are some difficult conversations to be had, but those will take place behind closed doors.
"For now she was happy to display a show of unity and will always put her family first."
Another friend of Catherine's told the publication: "I saw those pictures today. I don't know what's going on. Catherine is very direct. There's no nonsense with her.
