Lil’ Yachty Trashes VMAs After ‘Oprah’s Bank Account’ Doesn’t Get A Nomination

Lil Yachty isn’t pleased that his music video for “Oprah’s Bank Account,” didn’t get a nomination at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. Hot New Hip Hop pointed out today that the performing artist been on hiatus between his last records.

Eagerly, fans waited for the release of Lil Boat 3, and the performing artist, in the meantime, dropped a collaboration between himself, DaBaby, and Drake, called “Oprah’s Bank Account.” The music video between the trio of artists featured Lil Yachty as “Boprah.”

As it was just noted, however, Lil Yachty wasn’t nominated for any awards, and the rapper is obviously a bit bothered by it. On his social media account, the rapper slammed the awards show for snubbing him this year.

Lil’ Yachty wrote on his account that he has been putting all of his energy into his art form, but many are just trying to “s**t on that,” as well as discredit some of the things he has accomplished. “Nah, that s**t is wack, bro,” the rapper claimed.

Lil’ Yachty went on to say he hasn’t been given the respect he deserves in the business. While the Video Music Awards didn’t shout out to the Georgia artist in the way he wanted, Oprah Winfrey reportedly loved the video.

During a recent interview, Oprah said she “loved it, loved it!” Drake, on the other hand, has earned a lot more praise in the rap game over the years, however, he has a lot more hits than Lil’ Yachty as well.

Either way, Lil Yachty has been in the headlines for other reasons, including back in 2018, when he explained why he couldn’t work with Nicki Minaj. This was around the same time as her feud with Cardi B, which was one of the most talked-about feuds of 2018.

Lil’ Yachty said previously he was team Cardi, all the way because he and the “Bodak Yellow” rapper are signed to the same management team, Quality Control Music. Sources claim Cardi B and Nicki Minaj still aren’t on the best of terms today, even though they might have claimed otherwise publicly.
