Following the success of female artists like Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, it’s not uncommon for male rappers to state that the rap world is currently dominated by women. Hot New Hip Hop reported this week on comments from Lil Baby, who said women were running the show and it was time for men to step up.
In case you didn’t know, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s recent song, “WAP,” has stayed on top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts trailing only behind the song from BTS, “Dynamite.” Many have argued that women’s influence on the genre is currently being felt in a big way, and Lil Baby is just one rapper who has noticed.

He wrote, “females winning like a mufucca right now.” While Megan and Cardi B are currently dominating the rap game, Lil Baby has been doing alright too.
The rapper dropped My Turn this year and it’s been sitting in the top 10 for months. As it was noted above, Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B dropped their collaborative single, “WAP,” this year, which has been the biggest song thus far.
The music video featured a cameo from the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, Kylie Jenner, although, not everyone was happy about it. Followers of the story know that some fans even created an online petition asking for her removal and replacement with a female artist.
Fans took issue with Kylie’s inclusion for a number of reasons, one being that she’s not really a musical artist and there was no reason for her to be there. However, others noted that Kylie’s appearence in the video likely did a ton for the song’s popularity and visibility.
Others claimed the Kar-Jenner clan has been profiting off black culture for years and paying nothing back, other than dating black men.
