Sometimes online shopping goes horribly wrong, and Laura Whitmore knows all about that.
The Love Island host, 35, was faced with a rather bizarre reality on Wednesday when her online order came through the door.
Unfortunately, the bubbly Irish native didn’t quite get what she had bargained for when her household item eventually arrived.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Laura detailed the online shopping disaster with her 1.2 million followers.
The reality TV star explained that she had ordered a patterned pastel rug online, and was so excited for the new addition to her home ware to spice up her not-so-humble London abode.
Laura’s excitement crumbled the minute she lay her eyes on her latest purchase though after she soon realised it didn’t look anything like what she had expected.
The rug that appeared on her door-step was a shriveled up, minuscule, sad excuse for the luxury item she had hoped for.
Alongside a photo of two completely different rugs, Laura wrote: “So I ordered this... and today, this arrived.”
After documenting her shopping misfortune, fans erupted into hysterics.
“Maybe it shrunk in the post” quipped one comical follower.
“They do say size doesn’t matter, but omg, the size and the colour. I can’t stop laughing!” another echoed.
“This just screams 2020 in an Instagram post” joked a third.
While a fourth fan added: “This is the best thing I have seen all week. I’m crying with laughter. Thank you Laura!”.
Laura’s relatable post comes after the Love Island star recently opened up about deleting her Instagram account as she reflected on the pressures of social media.
She admitted that she spent too much time on her phone particularly at the start of the lockdown.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, the blonde bombshell revealed that she went as far as deleting Instagram so that she could take a break from the online world.
She has also learned not to be so hard on herself as she hit back at trolls who had been critical on social media.
"I was on [social media] a lot but I guess that was my connection to the outside world so I didn’t want to be too hard on myself," she said.
"I was on a break recently and found myself logging on to Instagram in the morning out of habit. I had to delete it in the end to ensure I stayed off. It’s a balancing act."
As for trolls, she said: "There’s a lot of anger in the world at other people. But if someone is a d**k, you can’t stop them but you can change how you respond to them."
