Love Island host Laura Whitmore to take over from Holly Willoughby on Celebrity Juice
EXCLUSIVE TV sources claim Laura, 35, has landed a six-figure deal that makes her one of the most highly paid women on the box
Love Island host Laura Whitmore has been lined up for a £250,000 new telly job.
She is set to take over from Holly Willoughby on hit ITV panel show Celebrity Juice.
TV sources claim Laura, 35, has landed a six-figure deal that makes her one of the most highly paid women on the box.
The Irish star – who has appeared on Celebrity Juice before – is expected to be a team captain on the show hosted by Keith Lemon, alongside I’m A Celeb... fave Emily Atack, who will replace Mel B.
An insider said: “Laura’s high profile presenting gigs including Love Island have allowed her to demand six-figure fees for new TV commitments. She is well loved by TV bosses and audiences alike.”
In May, Laura – who also hosts a Radio 5 Live show –admitted she doesn’t know how much money she made in the last year.
She explained she simply takes a wage from her firm Yer Wan – a reference to being referred to as ‘yer wan off the telly’ when she returns to her home town Dublin.
Laura – who took over as ITV2’s Love Island host in January after the tragic death of her pal Caroline Flack – explained in an interview: “Money goes into my limited company and I pay myself from there.
“But my mum and dad seem to know (how much) as every year a paper in Ireland prints what high-income earners have made.”
She said she tries to be astute when it comes to shopping, especially for clothes.
“I like a bargain. If I want to splash out, I can rent a luxury dress, especially if I’m only planning on wearing it once,” she said. “I often realise I don’t like it as much as I thought I would and I’m glad I didn’t buy it.
Laura added that she was “extremely lucky” to be able to buy herself a flat in Camden, North London, when she was 26, and that doing so gave her “a bit of security”.
She lives with her long-term boyfriend Iain Stirling, 32, a Bafta-winning Scottish comedian who works as narrator on Love Island.
