Laura Whitmore has insisted that men on Love Island face more pressures than their female contestants.
The Irish bombshell began hosting the first Winter series of the iconic ITV reality dating show in 2019.
Laura, 35, has revealed that she thinks the male stars constantly feel obliged to work out and show off their bulging muscles in the sizzling Spanish villa.
Speaking to host Natalie Morris on the British Army’s The Locker Podcast, the blonde bombshell admitted that she feels sorry for the boys on the show.
"I feel sorry for the guys in there. They are always working out whilst in the villa and while the girls are chilling.
"The guys have a lot more pressure to look good."
Avid admirers of the hit reality dating show will be well aware that during the day, former stars such as Tommy Fury and Chris Hughes were constantly burning up a sweat while they lifted weights in the villa garden.
Meanwhile, their female housemates would look on in admiration from the comfort of the day beds or garden beanbags.
Although Laura feels that there is a lot more pressure on men to look good on the show, she can also admire the brave girls for showcasing their bikini bodies on Love Island over the course of the last few years.
But that doesn't mean that she would ever get her kit off to join them.
Despite the fact that she oozes self-assurance and the contagious Irish charm, Laura revealed that she struggles with confidence.
Opening up about her battle with self-doubt, the blonde bombshell insisted that she is still unable to take a compliment despite her resounding success in life.
"There were a lot of beautiful people on that show. I know I don’t want to be in a villa in my bikini on television, that’s just me.
"I am someone who struggles with confidence. I can’t take a compliment, I always knock myself.
"It was just how I was brought up in Ireland," she continued.
While she does struggle with self-confidence, Laura has learned that the trick to happiness is to never compare herself to other people.
The Dublin native insisted that there is room in the world for all different shapes and sizes.
Laura said: “The only person I compare myself to is myself – everyone is different.”
The TV star took over hosting duties on the show from Caroline Flack to present the first ever winter edition of the show back in January.
Laura was a huge fan of the ITV2 show before landing the highly sought after job.
