Kylie Minogue has revealed how her new lover won over her 100-year-old grandmother - by speaking Welsh.
The 52-year-old pop queen took her man Paul Solomon to Australia on a family visit to see her beloved nan Millicent Jones at the end of last year.
Welshman Paul, 46, learned greetings in his native language to delight the OAP, who emigrated Down Under as a child.
Speaking to BBC Radio Wales, Kylie revealed: “She turned 100 in December and still has a thick Welsh accent.
"She was always the matriarch of the family. She is such a strong character in my life.
“Paul is a Welshman. He doesn't speak Welsh but he practiced a few words.
“You could see her face light up when he spoke Welsh to her. I'm still charmed by the accent. It is a beautiful language,” Kylie revealed.
As well as reuniting with her extended family at the December celebrations, they also enjoyed a touching moment as they listened to a Welsh choir perform during the birthday gathering in December.
Millicent left the Welsh mining town of Maesteg in the 1950s to emigrate to Queensland, Australia - and went on to have six children.
Her daughter Carol later married Ron Minogue and the couple had three children Kylie, Dannii and brother Brendan.
Kylie's boyfriend is originally from Caerphilly, South Wales, but moved to London to become creative director of GQ magazine.
The couple, who met at a party in 2018, have gone from strength to strength in their relationship ever since.
Although the lovebirds currently live in London, it also hasn't stopped the singing sensation from eyeing up a property in Australia.
Speaking to Stellar magazine, Kylie revealed that when she visits Australia she usually stays at her parent's home, but things have changed now that she has a long-term partner.
"I don't have a home there now – I stay at my parents' house – but it's different now as a 52-year-old woman with a partner... I'd want my own space," she told the publication.
"It's an absolute dream to have a place in Australia."
