Us Magazine reported on comments from Kristin Cavallari this week in which she spoke with People Magazine about her split with Jay Cutler. The reality star and Jay broke up five months ago and the star has been relatively silent on the matter since then.
The Very Cavallari alum, 33, said to reporters from People Magazine on the 23rd of September, that “it didn’t happen overnight.” Cavallari explained how she and Jay had tried very hard for “years and years” to make it work out between them but they just couldn’t do it.
Even though they’ve broken up, she still has a lot of love for him and they talk frequently. Previously, the True Comfort author said that Jay would be in her life forever because of the children they share together, including Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor, who are all under the age of 10.
Fans of the ex-lovebirds know they first got married in June 2013, and while they had to call it off, they “grew up” and realized they couldn’t be together any longer. According to Kristin, she and Jay had worked at it for a long time, but they realized they had to make a decision and simply move on because the cons outweighed the pros.

Amid news of their split, Cutler and Kristin dropped a statement in which they explained how grateful they were to spend the last ten years of their lives together. The True Roots author said to Us Magazine that it was the first time in a long time she was able to “take a breath.”
Their custody agreement just kicked into effect in May, and reports claim Camden, Saylor, and Jax, will spend 50% of the year with their father and then the other half with Kristin.
