Kevin Dobson dead: Knots Landing actor dies aged 77 after heart attack
The American actor who played Patrick "Mack" MacKenzie on Knots Landing passed away at the age of 77 on Sunday following a heart attack. He is survived by his wife and their three children.

American actor Kevin Dobson died on Sunday following a heart attack.
The actor – who was famous for playing Patrick "Mack" MacKenzie on Knots Landing, among other roles – was 77.
As well as acting, the star served in the US armed forces and was a chair person on council of The United Veterans Council of San Joaquin County.
Breaking the news of Kevin's sad passing via Facebook, The United Veterans Council of San Joaquin County celebrated the star for his charitable work.
The organisation wrote online on Monday: "Army Veteran, Veterans Rights Activist, Film and Television Actor Kevin Dobson has passed away.
"He was 77 Years Old. Condolences to the entire family. Rest In Peace."
The organisation went on to share a video of the star first released on 4 July where he discussed his past career as a military policeman from his days in the US Army.
Kevin made his acting debut in 1971 with an uncredited role as a man in a bar in the thriller, Klute.
He continued to act throughout his life with a 2014 role in a short film called Full Circle his most recent credit – while a TV series titled 12 to Midnight and due for release in 2021 lists Kevin in the cast.
He is well known for playing M. Patrick "Mack" MacKenzie in Knots landing from 1982 to 1993, and also played Det. Bobby Crocker through 117 episodes of crime drama Kojak between 1973 and 1978.
More recently he played Judge Devin Owens in iconic American soap The Bold and the Beautiful over 13 episodes between 2006 and 2007.
And he also features in the another iconic US soap, Days of Our Lives, playing a character named Mickey Horton over 15 episodes in 2008.
Kevin leaves behind his wife, Susan, who he married in 1968.
