Kim Kardashian’s unrecognisable looks before surgery and KUWTK fame

With her natural girl-next-door looks, Kim Kardashian immediately attracted attention when she stepped out as Paris Hilton's sidekick in 2003.

But the Kimmy K of the noughties is a world away from the plumped and primed reality star who turns 40 today.

From drastically altered hairlines to plumper pouts and bloody procedures that left her screaming, the mother-of-four has left no stone unturned in her quest to become picture perfect....

Hairline

Kim circa 2007 - aka the year her sex tape with then-boyfriend Ray J was leaked - sported a very different hairline which mysteriously moved over the next 12 months.

And she later admitted undergoing a hair removal procedure that lifted her face and made it look more open.

“I lasered my baby hairs off years ago, because my forehead had all these little baby hairs, and I would always break out because of them," she told People magazine.

“I have the hairiest forehead you could ever imagine, and I would always break out and get all cracky on my forehead just from all the hair that I had.

“So in high school, I would wax it off because there was just so much hair, and then I would laser it off a little bit. If you Google 2008 or 2007, I had the craziest, hairiest hairline, so I did laser it.”

Nose

Kim has often been accused of having undergone rhinoplasty, with some claiming her nose has got smoother and slimmer.

And a surgeon from MYA.co.uk reckoned the difference was most noticeable when comparing old pictures of Kim to present day.

"She has most likely had an open septo rhinoplasty to slim the bridge and an alar base reduction to refine the tip of the nose," the told Mirror Online.

"Scarring is minimal and recovery time is roughly around 6 weeks but it can take up to a year for the swelling to fully settle."

However, while she did admit having a consultation in 2010, Kim has always insisted she was too scared to go through with the op and is au naturel in the schnoz department.

"My nose in my biggest insecurity. The doctor showed me what it would look like. And it just didn't - I wouldn't look the same," she told ABC News in 2010.

Kim stood by her denial and in 2016 explained that she used makeup to make her nose appear smaller.

She told Wonderland magazine, "People think I've had my nose done. I haven't.

"I used to hate this bump on my nose. Hated it. Now I love that it makes me look more ethnic."

Botox

While she denies surgery, Kim has been open about her love of botox, which she started using in her twenties.

"To me, it isn’t plastic surgery," she said of the wrinkle-reducing jabs.

But she did 'freak out' after suffering unsightly side effects in 2010.

"I had some bruising around my eyes after the procedure, which is totally natural, but because I hadn’t looked into the side effects, I freaked out," she said on an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

"Botox just wasn’t necessary for me at [that] age," she added.

Fillers

When Kim emerged from hiding following the birth of son Saint in 2015, fans claimed her face was looking puffier than usual.

And Dr. Kishan Raichura, a cosmetic doctor and injectable expert at IGDP dental in London, agreed, suggesting she'd had work done to achieve a "more sculpted look".

He previously told Mirror Online, "What a difference! Kim certainly appears to have undergone cosmetic treatments to volumise her lips and cheeks.

Her lips appear fuller - suggesting a lip augmentation using dermal fillers - and her cheeks have likely been filled with a volumiser to create a more sculpted look."

Pregnancy

Kim - who carried daughter North and son Saint before welcoming daughter Chicago and son Psalm by a surrogate - has said that pregnancy drastically changed the way she looked.

Shooting down claims she had botox while pregnant with Saint, she raged, "No I don't do fillers or botox when pregnant like some tabloids are reporting, you would have to be really sick to endanger your child like that!"

"Anyone who has been pregnant or gained weight knows your face totally changes! My nose gets bigger, cheeks fuller & my lips swell up."

Skin

From lasers and injectables to gruesome 'vampire facials', there's nothing that can stand in the way of Kimmy K and a smooth visage.

The vampire facial saw Kim have her own blood injected into her face using micro-needles - and without anesthetic.
