Kim Kardashian is reported to have dropped a whopping $1 million on whisking her friends and family off to a private island for her 40th birthday.

Of course, that amount of cash is but a drop in the ocean to the billionaire reality star/fashion and make up mogul.

Kim has faced some criticism for her lavish getaway after revealing that her loved ones faced two weeks of quarantine and medical screenings so they could join her on an island paradise.

Piers Morgan is among those to slam her for it, calling her a "tone-deaf imbecile".

Page Six reports that Kim splashed out a cool $1m, hiring an 88-seater Boeing 777 private jet to fly her and her loved ones to the island in Tahiti.

The group of less than 30 people were also put up in a luxurious resort in French Polynesia. It has just 35 villas.

Kim was joined by a number of her friends and family members, including sisters Kourtney, Khloe and Kendall, brother Rob, and mom Kris Jenner.

Kris' beau Corey Gamble was also there, as was Kourtney's ex Scott Disick and Khloe's ex Tristan Thompson.

Kim's guests were treated to lavish dinners, spa treatments and guided treks of the island.

A source told the site: "The group was limited to Kim’s closest family and friends. Everyone on the trip was repeatedly tested for COVID before they left in the middle of the night on a private Boeing 777.

"Once on the island they had lavish dinner after dinner, spa treatments and hikes through the nature sanctuary. There was no expense spared. Everyone was banned from posting on social media by Kim to ensure her privacy."

The group jetted off on October 20 and returned to LA five days later.

Last night, Kim shared a string of pictures from her lavish celebrations.

She penned: "40 and feeling so humbled and blessed. There is not a single day that I take for granted, especially during these times when we are all reminded of the things that truly matter. For my birthday this year, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it than with some of the people who have helped shaped me into the woman I am today.

"Before COVID, I don’t think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment. After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time.

"We danced, rode bikes, swam near whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach and so much more. I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40"

Her family members and friends rushed to thank her for the "best trip ever", but it seems not everyone felt that way, and some slammed Kim for flaunting her wealth.
