Kim Kardashian will not be celebrating her 40th birthday as she'd originally planned this year.

The reality star, 39, has been forced to push back her show-stopping plans for a Wild West-themed party to next year.

She is set to turn 40 on October 21, but won't be celebrating the milestone birthday until coronavirus restrictions settle - which she's hoping will be in 2021.

It appears Kim will be also be postponing her lavish bash due to recent drama surrounding the Kardashian family.

The famous clan decided to pull the plug on their show Keeping Up With The Kardashians following her husband Kanye West's erratic outburst at his first presidential rally.

They will now be stepping out of the spotlight for a while as they need to take a break, according to Kim, who opened up about her cancelled party plans.

"I had the best plan," the mum-of-five told Grazia magazine.

"It was going to be called Wild, Wild Miss West's 40th Birthday. I had Manfred Thierry Mugler make me a metal costume. Like, a cowgirl costume. I have it and it is insane. We did virtual fittings."

She added she doesn't want to "waste" the incredible customised outfit for "a party for myself with five people".

Kim and her rapper husband Kanye have been struggling to make their marriage work since before his showdown, which she publicly announced as a bipolar episode.

The couple have been at each other's throats for months and are now said to be avoiding discussing important issues, so it's no wonder Kim wants to leave the party until things are sorted next year.

Kanye is said to be jetting off around the world to "find himself".

She also told the publication she wants to focus on her kids instead of filming for KUWTK, as "they need us".

It comes after Kim took to Instagram on Saturday and hinted that the stresses of the current year would soon be behind her, but also made reference to unnamed people trying to seize her happiness in a slightly cryptic post.

She wrote via Stories: "A year from now, everything you're stressing about won't mean a thing.

"Be thankful, smile more, spend more time with family and don’t stress the small things.

"This is our one chance at life.

"Don't let anyone or anything take away your happiness."
