Kris Jenner started a family tradition by holding a huge holiday party, typically on Christmas Eve. The party grew over the years and changed location as Kris’ famous adult children had mansions of their own. Last year, Kourtney Kardashian hosted the infamous party that gave the public their first look at Khloe and Tristan Thompson as a couple, sparking rumors they were back together — again and photos of the sisters wearing their custom designer gowns with their matching mini-me daughters went viral.
Though the family has come under fire for hosting many birthday parties during the COVID-19 pandemic, Kris Jenner is taking a different approach when it comes to her holiday party — it’s canceled! Khloe broke the news on Twitter when she responded to a fan who asked her about the annual holiday bash. Khloe stated the following.

The Covid cases are getting out of control in CA. So we decided that we’re not doing a Christmas Eve party this year. It’s the first time we will not be having a Christmas Eve party since 1978 🥺 I believe. Health and safety first though! Taking this pandemic seriously is a must.
COVID-19 cases have skyrocketed and California has not been spared. Currently, the entire state of California has over 1.4 million cases with more than 20,000 deaths. The state is under a three-week lockdown as the governor tries to slow the spread. The danger is that hospitalizations have surged and there is a real threat that certain areas may run out of ICQ beds.
The family has already been hit with COVID-19 and knows what it endures. Fortunately, both Khloe Kardashian and Kanye West (who both caught Coronavirus earlier this year) didn’t suffer life-threatening complications and recovered safely at home. Though the family had multiple parties and large gatherings (Kendall’s 25th birthday/Halloween party, Kim Kardashian’s, and Kylie Jenner’s luxurious getaways) they all stated there was extensive COVID-19 testing conducted before each gathering.
Now it is just too risky and Kris Jenner has canceled the Christmas Eve holiday party.
