Kerry Katona in that infamous This Morning interview

Kerry Katona joked that Anthony Joshua's post-fight speech was worse than her notorious 2008 with This Morning.

On Saturday, after AJ lost to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, the 32-year-old made a rambling and emotional speech, which left many fans cringing.

Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry couldn't help but compare the bizarre scenes to her awkward television appearance from 14 years ago.

She was accused of being drunk because of her slurring and body language but she claimed it was due to her bipolar medication at the time.

The interview and the reaction to it left her feeling suicidal.

And now, the singer took to her Instagram Stories to make light of Anthony's passionate speech and compared it to her infamous chat.

She wrote: "AJ's speech at the end of his boxing match tops my This Morning interview."

After losing the rematch against the Ukrainian fighter, Anthony stormed out of the ring before grabbing the microphone to make a speech.

He spoke about his journey as a fighter as well as the war in Ukraine.

He also told Oleksandr 'I'm talking' when the winner tried to take the Ukrainian flag back from Anthony.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Closer magazine in 2018, Kerry admitted she was still haunted by the interview with Phil Schofield and Fern Britton.

She said: "The criticism I got, the judgment I had because of my slurring still sticks with me today.

"No one believed it was my meds that made me slur, but it was – instead they assume it was the drugs and that's the reputation I got.

"I still get so badly criticised – it's such a fickle world. Because of that time I'm still trying to get production companies to believe in me again."

She said that the backlash she received after the show aired made her suicidal, and admitted she found it strange that Phil and Fern "never once asked" about her mental health, considering she had revealed she was struggling with bipolar disorder.

During an appearance on Marnie’s Home Truths podcast, Kerry recalled: "Never once did they say to me, ‘Oh, oh right - what’s bipolar and what’s the medication you’re taking? I didn’t get any of that."

After the interview, Kerry was met by paparazzi at her home and said the subsequent backlash was "just awful".
