Kerry Katona has revealed what happened to Katie Price's daughter, Princess Andre while she was under her care.

The former Atomic Kitten star, 39, whisked the 13-year-old away on a trip along with her daughter and Princess' best friend, Heidi.

The getaway came at the perfect time for teen to distract her after her eldest brother Harvey, 18, was rushed to intensive care last week.

However, the spontaneous family getaway didn't go without a few tears as Kerry and her boyfriend Ryan Mahoney were photographed carrying Princess into a hospital after an accident.

Now, Kerry has denied taking the teen to hospital in a bid to gain attention.

Instead, she has insisted that she rushed Princess to the nearest emergency room after she hurt her foot while swimming in the sea.

Opening up about the incident in New magazine, the mother-of-five wrote: "After a pap took shots of me and the family away with Princess Andre last week, a lot of people accused me of doing it for attention.

"Ryan can be seen carrying Princess to the hospital because the poor thing hurt her foot in the sea.

Kerry explained that she took drastic measures due to the fact she was worried about Princess, and because Katie was already going through so much with Harvey being admitted to intensive care.

The former pop star added: "I was worried, seeing as she’s not my kid, so I thought it best to get her some medical treatment.

Thankfully, Princess' ailment turned out to be nothing more than a splinter in her toe.

Despite her well-meaning gesture to make sure her friend's daughter received medical examination, Kerry was accused of setting up the whole ordeal in a bid to gain media attention.

Taking to her column, she denied the claims when she penned: "Let me be completely clear – I had no idea that photographer was there and I’d never set up pictures of Princess without permission from her parents.

Kerry also addressed claims that Princess was under her care while Katie attended to her sick son Harvey in hospital.

She explained: "The truth is, Princess was with us for a couple of days before Harvey was taken ill, as she’s my Heidi’s best friend and Heidi begged me to let her stay a few days longer and come on our family staycation.

"I didn’t mind at all as Princess is the most lovely, polite child you’ll ever meet.

"Kate is an incredibly strong woman who is more than capable of looking after her daughter, despite the difficult circumstances" she continued.

Taking to social media, Kerry shared a number of snaps of the group as they enjoyed a day out at the Big Cat Sanctuary.

In one of the pictures, Princess, 13, cast a grin toward the camera as she basked in the sunshine with Kerry's daughters.

Alongside the post, Kerry wrote: " @thebigcatsanctuaryuk loving it here thank you for having us xxxx."

The television star ensured she had a day packed full of activities for Princess and her kids and later took them to a luxurious holiday rental in Kent.

Kerry was also inundated with messages from worried fans who expressed their hopes that Princess is doing OK.
