Kerry Katona admits her kids will miss start of school after Spanish holiday
The mum-of-five took her brood on a sunshine break, although she knew there would be quarantine period on their return
Celebrity mum-of-five Kerry Katona has come under fire for taking her kids on holiday to Spain – even though it meant they would miss the start of school term.
The ex-Atomic Kitten and reality TV star, who is 40 today, posted photos of her family at a villa in Granada last week.
The holiday to mark her birthday became a double celebration when Kerry’s boyfriend Ryan Mahoney, 31, proposed.
Ryan, who will be Kerry’s fourth husband, had asked her kids – Dylan Jorge Rose, six, Maxwell, 12, Heidi, 13, Lily Sue, 17, and Molly Marie, 19 – for permission.
Because Spain is subject to Covid restrictions, the family had to quarantine for 14 days when they got back last Sunday meaning Kerry’s younger children would miss school.
One Instagram follower said: “Are your kids not going back to school next week when you have to isolate? Not much forward thinking.”
Kerry replied: “No they won’t be.”
And she appeared to break the rules on Monday when she was pictured driving back to Gatwick Airport to pick up a suitcase.
Kerry’s spokesperson declined to comment.
Chatting with new! magazine this week, the happy couple revealed that they're "just not there yet" on the topic of kids.
Kerry is reticent, too, after she "nearly died" giving birth to youngest Dylan.
And if they do decided to have a little tot, she's leaning toward surrogacy.
"I think it'd be really selfish when I have five amazing, to get pregnant again knowing how I almost died in labour last time," she added.
"Why put myself through that when I could go through surrogacy? So watch this space."
Kerry recently recalled Dylan's birth on a video for her YouTube channel.
She shares the little girl with late ex-husband George Kay, who died in July last year.
"The best pregnancy I've ever had," Kerry recalled, "during labour, she shot out.
"And then I held her, I was like 'something's not right' and then I gave her to George because I didn't want the responsibility - and she was mine, it's weird isn't it?
"And George went: 'She's not breathing!' Anyway, the woman pressed the button and a crash team came in.
"They took her to the side while I've got into shock and then they pressed it again. Then my placenta erupted inside."
She added: "They put me in this recovery room because they had to operate on me."
Kerry and Ryan have also dished on their potential Las Vegas wedding plans after admitting they're "low-key" as a couple.
Ryan chimed in: "To me, weddings have always been overrated. I've never been a fan of the big, white wedding.
