Back when Keeping Up With the Kardashians launched in 2007, Kendall and Kylie Jenner were still awkward schoolgirls who made an occasional appearance.

Fast forward 13 years and one is an international supermodel while the other is a multi-millionaire entrepreneur.

But perhaps the biggest change has been in the dynamic between the once inseparable sisters.

As the youngest members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan and the daughters from Kris Jenner's second marriage to Caitlyn Jenner, there's 15 years between Kendall - who turns 25 today - and Kim, 40, meaning they grew up separately from their older siblings.

But while they may have been close, both have talked at length about their opposite personalities. While Kylie, 23, is an extremely social girlie girl, Kendall is a self-confessed tomboy who used to sob in her bedroom because she found it so hard to make friends.

"I was sitting in my room a lot of days crying because Kylie had so many friends, and I didn’t know what to do," she previously said.

Recalling one lonely school holiday, Kendall revealed she didn't have a single soul to hang out with other than her horses.

"I had nothing to do. I’m not kidding. I would ride from 8am to 8pm, I would ride all my trainer horses because I had nothing better to do," she added.

And as the star power of the family increased, cracks began to show between the famous sibs in 2014 when they fell out over Kendall's budding friendship with Kylie's BFF Hailey Bieber.

The pair buddied up at Kendall's very first New York Fashion Week, leaving Kylie seeing red.

"[I] stole Hailey from Kylie," Kendall once admitted to Elle magazine.

"From then on, she was my homie. Kylie was mad. I had to bring them back together and be like, 'No, it’s okay, guys.'"

And the following year tensions were caught on camera in KUWTK when Kendall branded Kylie a c-bomb for refusing to lend her a dress for the ESPY Awards.

"You’re just literally the biggest f**king bitch I've ever met," Kendall spat before turning to one of Kylie's dogs and muttering, "I'm sorry your mom is such a c***."

There's was further grief in store when Kylie took then-boyfriend Tyga on a family holiday to St Barts without warning anyone - a move that left Kendall devastated as she'd been hoping to use the time to mend their bond.

When Kendall broke down crying, Kim told the cameras: "Kendall had all this stuff planned and then it was like, ‘Oh there goes my girls trip.' She was just so excited to spend quality time with Kylie and just had she been prepared it would've been a different story. I felt bad for Kendall, kinda."

And that same year, Kendall claimed her rising success on the catwalk had left her fashion-loving sister seeing green.

"She's a Leo so she loves attention, and at certain points when we were younger, it bothered her that I was getting attention in terms of my modelling," Kendall told Cosmopolitan magazine.

"I think that's a natural younger sister thing - to be jealous. I was jealous of her sometimes too! But now she loves what I do and supports me."

As their careers continued to take them in different directions, in 2016 Kendall admitted that their relationship had become more distant.

“We’ve definitely changed a ton and don’t hang out as much as we used to,” she said on her website.

And Kylie echoed the sentiment in her 2017 reality show, Life of Kylie, telling the camera they probably wouldn't even be friends if they didn't have the same parents.

"We have different opinions. We do everything differently. It's so interesting," she said.

"I don’t think we’d be friends if we weren’t sisters."

As recently as last month the pair were still going at each other, vowing never to speak again after a row erupted about Kylie wearing an outfit that Kourtney had set aside for Kendall on a night out in Palm Springs.

A furious Kendall refused to go into the event, fuming: "Everyone bows down to Kylie and let's her do whatever the f*** she wants."

And when the sisters drove back to Los Angeles, Kylie refused to ask the driver to detour to Kendall's house, leading to what the latter described as a 'full fight' that ended with her being dumped at a petrol station.

Rehashing the drama, Khloe told her sisters: "There was already tension when the night started. There was tension at dinner.

"[Kendall] didn't come to the drag show. It was building up and building up and I think it just boiled over, and that's what happened. I think it just sucks for everybody."

But despite their increasing differences, there has been one thing that has brought the often-warring duo back together, and that was the birth of Kylie's daughter Stormi, two.

While, as the elder sister, Kendall found it 'weird' watching her little sister have a baby before her, ultimately she says it have 'brought us closer together'.
