It’s back to single’s town for Love Island star Kem Cetinay as his romance with lawyer Lexi Hyzler has been ruined by lockdown.
The 24-year-old reality star and the legal expert went ‘Instagram official’ with their romance earlier this year – however the hurdles placed in the path of their romance by Covid-19 restrictions proved terminal for the romance.
When England went into a four week lockdown last month, Lexi opted to return to her native Malta and the long-distance romance has since fizzled out.
The pair are said to on good terms despite the collapse of their romance – which had been Kem’s first attempt at a relationship following the end of his Love Island romance co-star Amber Davies.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Kem and Lexi made a great couple but sadly they have grown apart over the past few months.
“She went home during lockdown and since then the travel restrictions have made it really difficult for them to see each other.
“Lexi told Kem she adored him but didn’t think they could carry on and he agreed.
“It’s been really sad for both of them but it’s all amicable and they’re hoping they can remain good friends.”
In September, Kem had gushed about his relationship with Lexi – revealing he had introduced her to his family.
He said at the time: The fact I’ve introduced her to my family and she’s stayed here shows I’m taking it seriously.
"We had a chilled week – loads of Turkish kebabs, seven nights a week. She’s got to get used to it.
“We don’t do standard dinners, it’s straight-up barbecue every night. She was force-fed!”
Kim is said to be focusing on opening a new restaurant business in his own native Essex, turning his attention to work amid his romantic heartache.
Next year will mark four years since Kem and ex-girlfriend Amber won Love Island back in 2017.
The pair dated for six months before calling time on the relationship.
