Kelly Osbourne says she secretly underwent 'gastric sleeve' weight loss surgery
Television personality Kelly Osbourne has stated that she secretly underwent weight loss surgery prior to her transformative loss of 85 pounds
Television star Kelly Osbourne has disclosed details of her secret weight loss surgery.
The daughter of rock star Ozzy Osbourne and wife Sharon Osbourne had surprised her fans when she showed off a much slimmer appearance on social media.
The story exploded after Kelly responded to a comment by the mother of her friend Jeannie Mai on her Instagram who had written: "Oh my gosh, you lost a lot of weight."
Kelly replied: "That’s right mamma Mai, I lost 85lbs since I last saw you. Can you believe it?"
Now Kelly, 35, has admitted on Hollywood Raw with Dax Holt and Adam Glyn that she received a 'gastric sleeve' to aid in her keeping her weight down.
She explained: "I had surgery; I don’t give a f**k what anyone has to say.
"I did it. I’m proud of it. They can suck s**t. I did the gastric sleeve."
Explaining further, Kelly added: "All it does is change the shape of your stomach. I got that almost 2 years ago.
"I will never ever ever lie about it ever. It is the best thing I have ever done."
The former reality TV star then explained in detail why she chose to get the surgery done.
"I want to be very clear about this kind of surgery I had: I didn't have a gastric bypass.
"The kind of surgery I had, if you don’t work out and you don’t eat right, you gain weight.
"All it does is move you in the right direction."
Kelly noted: "What people don’t realize is, it cuts out this hormone that if you have addiction issues, it stops your craving and it makes you not emotionally eat which is a huge problem for me.
It was not the gastric sleeve that Kelly felt made the most difference, however, as she says a procedure on her face had more of an effect on her appearance.
She went on: "I had really bad TMJ (pain in the jaw joint).
"One of the things they did to stop it was they gave me injections in my jaw.
"It kinda made my jaw look skinnier. That’s when people started to notice that I had really lost weight because it changed the shape of everything.
"I found out it’s called buckle fat. It changed everything on my face!"
Kelly explained that her surgery has led to her not craving alcohol anymore, before analysing the media and social media's response to her weight loss.
"What I've realized is people only pick up on your journey when you've arrived at your destination," said Kelly.
"This has been two years of me working on this, figuring out if I wanted to be in this industry, figuring out if I was even capable of even losing this weight.
"I did, and I figured out I wanted to keep going, I didn't do this for anyone."
Despite the time it took for Kelly to reach this place, she says she has been taken aback by how quick the spread in reaction to her weight loss was.
"It was a long process, and now I’m here and everybody is noticing," noted Kelly.
