Katy Perry has used her love for fancy dress to encourage Americans to vote.

The Roar hitmaker, 36, took to social media on Monday night to share a video where she showcased her US election 2020 costume - that saw her transform into a voting sticker.

New mum Katie - who welcomed her first child, a little girl named Daisy, at the end of August - got into the voting spirit by slipping a large foam plaque on her shoulders that had a hole for her face.

The sign - which was an oval shape - read: "I voted" and featured an American flag image.

As the costume was only a headpiece it meant Katie was able to showcase her incredible post-baby figure.

The singing sensation appeared happy and healthy as she cut a dressed-down figure in a knitted dress paired with sandals.

Clad in a face-mask, the fresh-faced beauty was in high spirits as she walked around urging people to vote in the election that will see America choose their next leader.

She stood on a pavement and gestured at passing cars to honk their horns if they already voted.

Katy caption the clip: "It's not the end of the world No, not the end of the world Throw on your fancy attire, fears in the fire Don't lose hope TOMORROW IS ELECTION DAY!

"Tell ur mom tell ur dad tell strangers on the street to #VOTENOW#BRINGAFRIEND#BRINGASNACK#TAKEURBIKE#honkifualreadyvoted."

Katy has been asking Americans to vote since October.

In a video shared last month, Katy asked people to hit the ballot boxes to make their voices heard.

She also explained how to vote early - either by mail or in person - ahead of polling day.

She said: "Hi everyone I'm Katy Perry. Voting has already started across the country so I want to make sure all of you have your plan to vote early too.

Voting early has never been easier or more convenient, Trust me. And in most places you can vote early by mail or vote early in person."

She captioned the clip: "FLEX THAT PATRIOTIC MUSCLE and vote early! Vote now!"
