Katie Price sparks fury by 'shopping without a mask with no social distancing'

Katie Price has faced criticism after visiting a garden centre in Great Amwell and appeared not to observe social distancing or wear a face mask

Katie Price has faced criticism for going shopping without a face mask and appearing to ignore social distancing.

The former glamour model, 42, has paid a visit to Van Hage garden centre in Great Amwell for some "out of hours shopping".

The garden centre's Instagram account shared an image of Katie stood posing and leaning on a man in the shot.

The caption reads: "[Starry eyed emoji] Katie Price is in the house! [Starry eyed emoji]

"Out of hours shoppping at Van Hage Great Amwell #katieprice#exclusive#shopping#superstar#celebrity ".

Current Covid-19 lockdown restrictions allow for garden centres to remain open as they are essential retailers, but the wearing of face masks and observing two metres of distance - or one metre when not possible - between individuals from different households is encouraged.

The post soon resultantly prompted some critical comments, but commenting is now disabled on the post itself.

One Instagram user commented on the Instagram page regarding the photo, penning: "Please could you clarify as why no social distancing was adhered to when Miss Price came to visit.

"No masks were worn

"Touching shoulders and definitely not two metres apart."

They added: "You have not only put yourself, your staff and all their families at risk now."

In another comment, a person penned: "You're banning dogs. Pulling in tabloid glamour models for some 'after hours shopping'. Van Hage, I don't know what you think you're doing but you are seriously misreading your loyal client base."

In regards to the banning of dogs, the garden centre's website states: "We do allow well behaved dogs to visit the centres however they must remain on a lead at all times -please do not allow dogs to ride in trolleys.

"Some areas do have restrictions (except guide dogs) i.e. Cafe, Events, Animal Gardens.

"Owners remain responsible for their pets at all times and are expected to clean up any accidents."

When approached by Mirror Online, the CEO of Van Hage commented: "Katie Price contacted Van Hage to arrange to use our store as a filming location for her TV Programme, on an out of hours basis, at a time when it was closed to the general public.

"Our store staff wore appropriate PPE and were not present with her family during the filming process; Briefly, at the very end of the trip she ended by posing for a photograph in front of our Christmas department without a face mask.

"We would recommend contacting Ms Price’s representatives directly for any further information because we are not able to comment specifically on her behalf."

The post comes after Katie recently celebrated six months of being with her boyfriend and former Love Island star Carl Woods.

A love-up Katie penned earlier this month on Instagram: Katie penned: "6 months with being with each other everyday 24/7 still very much going strong it’s unbelievable to think how perfect everything is ... it’s taken all these year to actually find my soul mate and that’s my love of my life @carljwoods."
