Katie Price heartbreak as puppy she bought for daughter Princess dies

The former glamour model had gifted the puppy to her daughter Princess for her 13th birthday earlier this month

Katie Price is facing fresh heartbreak as the puppy she bought for daughter Princess has died.

The former glamour model treated Princess to a dog named Rolo earlier this month for her 13th birthday.

It's believed the puppy had been staying at Katie's house after Princess' dad Peter Andre banned her from getting a dog as his wife Emily is allergic.

A source revealed that after less than a month with his owners, Rolo has been found dead by Harvey's carer after a 'tragic accident'.

"They had to phone Katie to break the news," an insider told The Sun.

"Katie is devastated and heartbroken and had to call Princess and break the news. Everyone's in floods of tears.

"It was a tragic accident nobody could have foreseen - it's no-one's fault but Katie can't stop crying."

The devastating loss of Rolo is the latest in a line of tragedies Katie has endured when it comes to her beloved pets.

Within the last three years, four of her animals have died prematurely.

Back in February Katie's Alsation Sparkle was killed after being hit by a car.

Before that her dog Queenie was run over by a pizza delivery van.

The family's chameleon Marvin then died from a 'broken heart' and one of Katie's horses was mowed down in a crash.

At one time, Katie's Surrey mansion had been a menagerie of pets, but since her money woes the former glamour model has dramatically downsized to taking care of just one animal - her security dog Blade.

But in June Katie had a change of heart and decided to welcome puppy Rolo into her home as a present for daughter Princess.

As well as giving Princess the puppy, Katie had spared no expense when it came to lavishing the pet with treats and accessories.

Last month, Katie was filmed splashing the cash in a pet store as she packed her trolley with blankets, bottles and perfumes for the dog.

Princess said she was determined to give her pet 'the best life.'

The youngster's dad Peter spoke out in his magazine column about why he'd turned down his daughter's request for a pet.

The pop star wrote: "It's Princess's birthday at the end of the month and she said she wants a puppy.

"It's every dad's dream to get their daughter a puppy for their 13th birthday but Emily is so allergic to dogs I don't think it's going to be possible.

"It makes me sad I can't make Princess's dream come true but I will make it up to her, I promise."
