Kate Garraway put on a brave face in London after her husband's Covid battle became the UK's longest.
Derek Draper yesterday spent his 184th day in hospital - reportedly making his hospitalisation due to coronavirus the longest in the UK.
Derek remains in hospital, on the road to recovery after contracting Covid-19 and being admitted to hospital on 28th March.
Doctors admitted him to intensive care in early April and placed him in a coma.
And while his body is now free from the bug, the damage done has been considerable.
Kate's been visiting him, while medical staff continue to play GMB to him in the hopes his wife's voice might rouse a reaction.
Coronavirus has left him with clots in his lungs, holes in his heart and made him diabetic, and Kate has warned that he faces a long recovery process.
Kate - who shares Darcey, 14, and Billy, 11, with Derek - announced in July that Derek had emerged from his coma into a "state of minimum consciousness."
The GMB and Smooth Radio star dutifully wore her mask as she walked London streets, giving the cameras a wave and flashing a smile.
The Sun yesterday reported that Derek is now the longest-surviving coronavirus victim in the UK who is still receiving treatment in hospital.
The previous record was held by Fatima Bridle, who returned home in August following 141 days in hospital, including 105 on a ventilator.
Kate returned to Smooth Radio earlier this month, and to GMB in July.
She told Hello! magazine : "The doctors have been urging me not to put my life on pause.
"They've told me that I need to go back to work and create a routine in our lives again.
"The children and Derek are all I've thought about and they're the most important people in my life, but I must create structure and normality for the children, to clean the bath, put the plates in the dishwasher, and tidy the house."
Last week, she told that it had been a "rough week" for Derek after Gordon Brown sent the married couple his best wishes.
