Karen Hauer previously hinted that there was trouble in paradise before splitting from boyfriend David Webb last week.

The Strictly Come Dancing professional, 38, told pals that she split from her partner of two years David, 35, but they are still on good terms, it's claimed.

The romance appeared to be getting serious before it ended, with the former couple even discussing marriage.

But it seems as though it was not meant to be as the pair's relationship crumbled after months of staying at home together amid the pandemic.

Appearing on FUBAR Radio back in May, Karen actually hinted that it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows for the pair.

Discussing the difficulties of living together during lockdown, she told Joanna Chimonides and Stephen Leng on Access All Areas that the pair had been "attached at the hip for the past, you know, twenty-seven hundred years!"

When asked seriously how it had been for them both, the Strictly star revealed: "It's okay. No it's actually been really nice. It's the first time that we've finally actually had some time together. Because we are always working."

Karen hinted that their busy schedules had always been an issue during their relationship, adding: "I mean, I'm either on tour or he's on tour.

"Dave is an opera singer so he's usually doing something or I'm doing something and somebody is at the house with the dogs or I'm here and I'm there.

"So, I mean for now it's been actually nice. I mean, we've been working hard with our Home Festival Fun that we've created. But it's been ok."

Meanwhile David wasn't afraid to share his opinion of how the time had been, noting: "I think like everyone has a moment, you know. It’s been seven weeks or something now that people have been, seven or eight weeks?

"And I think everyone has a moment. But you know, the great thing I think is that we're all - it sounds so cliche to say - but we are all in it together and we're all going through the same stuff and I think we can all gain strength from each other through that."

Karen is reportedly using Strictly to take her mind off her split from the opera singer.

Karen and David had been together since 2017.

They began dating when she split from Kevin Clifton, who is now dating his 2019 dance partner Stacey Dooley.

Karen and Kevin, 37, confirmed their three-year marriage had ended in March 2018.
