Kanye West’s Wyoming team ‘urging him to accept medical treatment amid concerns’

Kanye West is being urged to accept help and support from a medical team as those closest to him share concerns about his mental health.

The 43-year-old rapper has been joined at his ranch in Wyoming by his closest friends and advisors as they look to help him get the support he needs.

Kanye has alarmed many with a couple of Twitter rants, in which he has alleged that he is trying to divorce his wife, Kim Kardashian, and has been disparaging about the influence Kris Jenner has over the family.

Since Sunday, when Kanye's first campaign rally in support of his presidential bid ended in tears and chaos, he has been holed up at his ranch in Cody, Wyoming.

He has now been joined by a team of close friends, who are looking to help him through a suspected bipolar episode.

Kanye's manager, Bu Thiam, and close childhood friends from Chicago Don 'Don C' Crawley and John Monopoly have all flown in to Cody to be with him.

A source told PEOPLE : "They are very concerned about his mental health and taking action.

"They are working to get him the help he needs. He's been seen by a doctor.

"He was assessed, and the assessment on Monday determined that he did not need immediate hospitalisation and that he was in a stable mental state at the time."

Speaking about who has joined Kanye at his ranch, the source continued: "Don C was the best man at Kanye's wedding and an executive at his G.O.O.D. Music label.

"John Monopoly is Kanye's former manager. Those close to him are concerned, and this is everyone’s top priority to make sure that he’s safe and getting the help he needs."

The source added that Kanye is being focused on a music project while in Cody and that music creatives are with him ahead of another assessment this week.

Kanye was buoyed earlier in the week when comedian Dave Chappelle spent some time with him, leading to the rapper to hail their friendship on Twitter.

He wrote: "THANK YOU DAVE FOR HOPPING ON A JET TO COME SEE ME DOING WELL DAVE YOU ARE A GOD SEND AND A TRUE FRIEND ALL LOVE."

Kanye had previously tweeted allegations that Kim and Keeping Up With The Kardashians momager Kris Jenner have tried to "lock him up" after allegedly dispatching doctors to the ranch.

Kanye then launched another tirade on Twitter on Wednesday, in which he revealed that he has been seeking a divorce from Kim since November 2018, when she met with Meek Mill to talk about criminal justice reform.

Kim, 39, finally broke her silence on Kanye's outpourings on Wednesday, in which she urged for "compassion" towards Kanye and addressed his bipolar diagnosis.

In a lengthy statement on Instagram, she wrote: "As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder.

"Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand.

"I've never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye's right to privacy when it comes to his health.

"But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health."

Kim continued: "Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor.

"People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgmental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try."

Kim labelled her husband a "brilliant but complicated person" and went on to explain that "those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words sometimes do not align with his intentions."
