Kanye West gave the illusion he can walk on water during an uplifting edition of his Sunday Service ceremonies – his latest held in Atlanta and joined by wife Kim Kardashian and their children.

The 43-year-old rap superstar gathered his powerful Sunday Service gospel choir to give a performance from the middle of a lake on Sunday as the sun set in the distance.

The group of singers filed out across the water – seemingly walking on the water as they walked to a point in the middle of the lake where they sang religious songs.

While Kanye and his children themselves later walked out on to the same lake while the choir sang a rendition of O Fortuna from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana featuring lyrics in English including: "Jesus is love".

Kanye walked calmly across the low, lapping waves with children North and Saint with him, while wife Kim, safe and dry on the bank of the lake, filmed them.

She shared footage on Instagram stories.

During the ceremony, American pastor and televangelist Joel Osteen, gave a speech – while walking on water himself.

He made reference to the seemingly biblical acts taking place before his eyes – and also reference the “genius” of Sunday Service orchestrator, Kanye.

He said: “Watching these fine men and women sing, it looks like they are walking on water. My mind goes back to that time where Jesus invited Peter to join to walk on the water. I can imagine Peter thought ‘Jesus, what are you talking about? That’s impossible! I can’t do that!”

“I think we all have that in times in life where we think ‘God is telling me to do something. I feel it down inside.’ But we don’t feel quantified or have the experience.”

He continued: “I can’t sing like them, or I can’t invent like Kanye. That’s for somebody else. But, God doesn’t put a dream in your heart and then not give you the ability to do it. I have learned in life, that you have to choose between your comfort and your calling.”

The family gathering may support hopes that Kim and Kanye are mending their damaged marriage.

The couple have seen their union rocked in recent months amid allegations Kanye has been trying to divorce his reality star wife for two years.

In July, Kanye – who is currently running a 2020 Presidential election campaign – sparked alarm during a political rally in South Carolina in which he claimed he and Kim had considered aborting their eldest child when they first discovered they were expecting.

Kim and Kanye were seen in crisis talks soon after in Wyoming, where Kanye has been spending most of the coronavirus pandemic, amid rumours their marriage was on the brink of collapse.
